All across Heavstine there are strange appearances. Creatures that have never been seen before suddenly appear in droves. Trees and caves that didn’t exist in the woods before will suddenly sprout up overnight. The strangest part of it all is the people. Fully grown humans, dwarves, elves and any of the other sentient races will come wandering out of the woods, swamps, mountains, or even the badlands with no memory of who they are or were they came from. Occasionally someone will come looking for a relative whose mind was erased by a vengeful sorcerer but for the most part these people go unclaimed. Most of the time they are viewed as a fortunate windfall, bolstering the ranks of whatever faction they land in but the newcomers can cause unrest and even battles over who claims them as part of their cause.
These people are known as the delivered while those born in Heavstine call themselves the naturals. Discrimination is not unheard of against the delivered. Sometimes, in the more feudal lands they are put directly into slavery or forced to work the most menial jobs. Some have risen to great power in a relatively short amount of time. When allowed to flourish nearly all of them exhibit some special talent. For some this is even more reason to keep them beaten down and controlled.
Occasionally the delivered are plagued with memories of a past life. It is assumed these are from who they were before they were found wandering. Some delivered have wasted their lives trying to find the lands they see in their visions. It is unknown whether any have found them.
